When our blood is fully oxygenated, it carries and absorbs nutrients and vitamins more efficiently. Essentially, the cleaner the blood, the harder it is to get sick.
When we become stressed or anxious, our brain releases cortisol, the “stress hormone.” By taking deep breaths, our heart rate slows, more oxygen enters our blood stream and ultimately makes the brain to relax. Deep breathing also increases the endorphins, the “feel good” chemical/hormone.
Breathing releases carbon dioxide and monoxide, which is important to fully release for better health of the body. Breathing cleanse the body of toxins 70 %. (the other 30% is through bladder and bowels.) If we do not breathe fully, our body must work overtime to release these toxins.
As your muscles relax, this allows blood vessels to dilate, which improves circulation and lowers blood pressure. Deep breathing also slows and regulates the heart rate, which also helps with lowering your BP.
Deep breathing triggers the release of endorphins, which not only helps create a happy feeling, but also combats pain by decreasing the production of pro-inflammatory substances.
When we breathe in, notice to simultaneously lengthen, and straighten the spine. In order to take a deep breath in, lungs take up maximum space, our diaphragm pulls down, so in turn our torso straightens in order for this to be possible.
Breathing exercises like pranayama increase the supply of oxygen, which increases the blood thrush and improves the appearance of skin. It also detoxifies blood which results in younger and glowing skin.
The Brain, spinal cord and nerves receive increased oxygenation and get more nourished. This improves the health of whole body, since the nervous system communicates to all parts of the body.
